Well…would you?? Tough question, isn’t it? So many people, today, fake their smile. They fake their smile, their laugh, their wardrobe, their looks, their tans, and a multitude of other things. If people would just be who God meant for them to be, can you imagine what the world would be like? It’d be hard to label something as unique, because everyone, then, would be. Aren’t you tired of trying to keep up with what’s “cool” at the moment? In all reality, if you take a minute to think about this new fad, you probably don’t even find it appealing.
Take a few moments to think about who YOU truly are. Think about the “friends” you have. If you disappeared, would they look for you? (Or are they just considering you a “friend” to keep their social status high?)
Sometimes, we need to let go of these people to find what’s out there for us that’s missing. Maybe that missing puzzle piece is a best friend or even that significant other that you’ve been complaining “isn’t out there.” Look at yourself, your “friends”, and decide….If I disappeared, who would really look for me and WANT to look for me?

“Remember that guy that gave up? Neither does anyone else.” I found this quote on a friend’s Facebook status. If it didn’t make sense to you, read it again and truly think about it.
This quote makes me think about the movie “To Save a Life.” In this movie, a pastor brings up the topic that so many people would do anything for twenty dollars, but would pass up the chance for just a penny. In relation to people, we treat them just as we do amounts of money.
We pass by people that may look a little bit different, act different, etc. These people are the pennies in our lives. Our best friends, people that act and look like us, and people we want to know are just like the twenty dollar bills. We will do anything for them and take time out of our plans for them.
However, what would the world be like if we took a little bit of our free time to take time for the pennies in the world? Would depression, suicide, and anxiety rates decrease?
Yes, this message hits home for me, too. I am striving to be a better person towards the people that are different in everyone’s eyes. Not only will it help others’ self-esteem, but it will also make you feel great about doing the right thing.
Then, maybe less people will give up. They will see themselves as courageous and capable.
After all, without the pennies, what would money be worth anyways?
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
